CMCA®—Certified Manager of Community Associations®
A
CMCA (Certified Manager of Community Associations®) has the fundamental knowledge and experience required to effectively manage homeowner and condominium associations and cooperatives. The CMCA certification helps ensure that the manager has the knowledge, experience and integrity to provide the best possible service to your association. Those authorized to use the CMCA credential have met rigorous standards and have agreed to principles of professionalism, integrity, diligence and fairness when dealing with clients. The CMCA® certification is awarded by
NBC-CAM (National Board of Certification for Community Association Managers).
AMS®—Association Management Specialist®
An AMS (Association Management Specialist®) is a professional who has earned professional management recognition by Community Associations Institute (CAI). Through advanced training and education the AMS designation helps ensure that the manager has the knowledge, experience and integrity to provide the best possible service to your association. AMS designees have made a commitment to continuing education and must adhere to a professional code of ethics. Community association managers who display the AMS designation demonstrate a commitment to their career and the community association industry.
Community Associations Institute (CAI) is a national organization dedicated to fostering vibrant, competent, harmonious community associations. For more than 30 years, CAI has been the leader in providing education and resources to the volunteer homeowners who govern community associations and the professionals who support them.
CAI created NBC-CAM in 1995 as an independent, yet affiliated, nonprofit that develops and administers the CMCA certification program. CAI created the program in response to a need for stringent professional standards of community association management.
The CMCA credential is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies which means it complies with NCCA's stringent standards for a professional certification program.
