Trestle Leaders to Share Industry Expertise at WSCAI’s 2026 CA Day

Education has a way of strengthening an entire industry. When community association professionals share what they have learned, challenge conventional thinking, and bring real-world experience into the conversation, Boards and managers alike are better equipped to navigate the increasingly complex work of building successful communities.
Trestle is proud to have three members of our team contributing to the educational programming at the Washington State Chapter of Community Associations Institute’s 2026 Community Associations Day.
Paul Grucza, CMCA, AMS, PCAM, Teresa Brown, CMCA, AMS, PCAM and Tina London, CMCA, AMS, will participate in two educational sessions during CA Day on Saturday, October 17 at the Seattle Convention Center. CA Day is WSCAI’s largest annual educational event and trade show for condominium and homeowner associations, bringing together homeowners, professional community managers, and business partners from across the industry.
Authority, Accountability, and Boundaries
Paul and Teresa will join Valerie Oman of Condominium Law Group, PLLC. in presenting Authority, Accountability, and Boundaries.
It is a familiar topic for Trestle-supported Boards. Earlier this year, Paul led a Trestle Board Education Series session addressing the same fundamental challenge: understanding where Board authority begins and ends, distinguishing individual authority from collective Board decision-making, maintaining productive boundaries with management and vendors, and reducing the conflict and risk that can result when roles become unclear.
These distinctions matter because community association governance works best when everyone understands the role they are there to perform.
Boards are responsible for governance and direction. Management brings professional guidance, operational experience, and implementation support. When those responsibilities are understood and respected, associations are better positioned to make thoughtful decisions, maintain accountability, and keep important work moving forward.
That philosophy is reflected in Trestle’s approach to community management. Our managers work alongside Boards as professional advisors, helping community leaders understand their options, consider risk, and make informed decisions while maintaining the appropriate distinction between governance and management.
Paul brings a particularly deep perspective to that conversation. A nationally recognized speaker and educator, past President of CAI, and recipient of CAI’s Educator of the Year award, Paul has spent nearly five decades working within the community association industry and educating professionals and Board Members.
At Trestle, that experience extends beyond the classroom. His role includes staff education and mentorship, development of managers’ consultative and proactive advisory capabilities, selective client engagement, and strategic guidance regarding industry trends.
Teresa, a Senior Community Association Manager with Trestle, brings the perspective of a professional actively supporting Boards and communities. Together, their perspectives connect broader governance principles with the practical realities of community association management.
The Myth of Being Right
Tina will join other industry experts in presenting, The Myth of Being Right, bringing another important leadership challenge into focus.
Recently appointed as one of Trestle’s dedicated Practice Leads, Tina brings her experience not only to the communities she serves, but also to Trestle’s expanded leadership structure. The Practice Lead structure is designed to create additional capacity for manager support, client service delivery, knowledge sharing, coaching, and operational excellence.
Tina has also been recognized for her commitment to professional development, industry education, and condominium management expertise, including presenting at multiple WSCAI educational programs and conferences.
Her participation in The Myth of Being Right touches on a reality familiar to anyone who has served on or supported a community association Board: complex decisions do not always come down to simply determining who is right.
Boards routinely balance competing priorities, differing homeowner perspectives, governing document requirements, financial realities, property needs, and long-term risk. Moving forward often requires the ability to consider different perspectives while keeping the needs of the association at the center of the discussion.
It is an important skill in professional community management as well. Managers are frequently called upon to help Boards work through complicated situations, understand the issues in front of them, and navigate decisions that may not have a simple answer.
Expertise That Extends Beyond the Classroom
Education is not limited to conferences.
Throughout the year, Trestle’s Board Education Series provides community leaders with practical education on governance, financial stewardship, rules and compliance, effective meetings, and other issues that directly affect their communities.
Recent sessions have explored how Boards can structure meetings to produce clearer decisions and follow-through, prepare for changing budget and reserve pressures, approach rules with greater fairness and consistency, and maintain homeowner confidence while making difficult financial decisions.
That commitment also extends internally.
Trestle’s specialized Practice Area structure is designed to give communities and managers greater access to experienced leadership, specialized expertise, and operational resources. Trestle’s recently expanded condominium leadership structure specifically creates additional capacity to support Community Association Managers, share best practices across teams, strengthen service delivery, and help communities navigate increasingly complex challenges.
The goal is not simply to know more. It is to turn knowledge into better guidance, stronger decisions, and more successful communities.
That is also why participation in organizations such as WSCAI matters. Industry education creates opportunities for experienced professionals to contribute what they know, learn from one another, and strengthen the profession as a whole.
We are proud to see Paul, Teresa and Tina representing Trestle in those conversations at CA Day.
