Education, Advocacy, and Community Success at the 2026 WSCAI Annual Conference

The WSCAI 2026 Annual Conference brings together community association professionals from across Washington for three days of learning, connection, and collaboration. This year’s program emphasizes practical education, leadership development, and advocacy and our Team is proud to play an active role in all three.
From Manager‑only sessions focused on professional growth to all‑attendee discussions about collaboration and accountability, Juan Rodriguez, Heather Clot, Tina London, and Paul Grucza will each contribute meaningful insight drawn from real‑world experience. In addition, we are proud to support WSCAI’s advocacy efforts as a sponsor of LAC Night.
Sharing Practical Expertise Through Manager‑Focused Education
Several of this year’s sessions are designed specifically for Community Managers, recognizing the increasingly complex role Managers play in supporting Boards and communities.
Juan Rodriguez, CMCA, AMS, MBA Practice Lead for Trestle’s Condominium Practice, will lead three Manager‑only sessions throughout the conference. Juan will present Practical Approaches to Sustainability in Community Associations, focusing on real, actionable strategies Managers can use to support long‑term community success. This session moves sustainability beyond theory and into everyday operational decision‑making.
Juan will also present Anatomy of a Dispute, a Manager‑only session that explores how disputes originate, why they escalate, and how Managers can play a constructive role in guiding communities toward resolution. Grounded in practical experience, this session provides tools Managers can apply immediately in challenging situations.
In addition, Juan will present I Love My Job Because… A Discussion About the Power of Optimism, a Manager‑only conversation centered on mindset, resilience, and the impact optimism can have on leadership effectiveness and career longevity. This session highlights the importance of sustaining both passion and perspective in a demanding profession.
Paul Grucza, CMCA, AMS, PCAM, Strategic Advisor and Client Excellence Ambassador, will present CMCA‑Prep Part 2, a Manager‑only afternoon session designed to support professionals preparing for their CMCA certification. This course reinforces core concepts, clarifies expectations, and helps Managers build confidence as they take the next step in their professional development.
Encouraging Accountability and Collaboration for All Attendees
Some challenges in community associations extend beyond the Manager‑Board relationship and require shared accountability across all stakeholders.
Heather Clot, CMCA, AMS, Senior Community Association Manager in Trestle’s Condominium Practice, and Tina London, CMCA, AMS, Senior Community Association Manager in Trestle’s Mid‑Rise, High‑Rise, and Estate Practice, will co‑present Help Me Help You: Overcoming Learned Helplessness, a session open to all conference attendees. This presentation explores how learned helplessness can show up in Boards, committees, and communities, and how Managers and leaders can help shift behaviors toward engagement, ownership, and productive collaboration.
Heather and Tina bring complementary experience from different practice areas, offering attendees practical strategies for breaking cycles of disengagement and building stronger working relationships.
Supporting Advocacy Through LAC Night
In addition to presenting, we are proud to sponsor LAC Night at the 2026 WSCAI Annual Conference. LAC Night supports the work of WSCAI’s Legislative Action Committee, which advocates on behalf of community associations across Washington State by monitoring legislation, educating policymakers, and ensuring association perspectives are represented as laws and regulations evolve.
Strong advocacy is essential as communities adapt to ongoing statutory changes and increasing governance requirements. Supporting LAC Night reflects a continued investment in the long‑term stability and success of community associations statewide.
A Commitment to Stronger Communities
The WSCAI Annual Conference highlights what is possible when education, advocacy, and collaboration intersect. Well‑informed Managers, engaged Boards, and supported communities are better equipped to navigate complexity and plan for the future with confidence.
We are honored to contribute to this year’s conference and to be part of an industry committed to learning, leadership, and continuous improvement. If you are attending the 2026 WSCAI Annual Conference, we look forward to connecting and sharing in the conversations that help drive community success.
