Trestle Sponsors WSCAI’s LAC Night at the 2026 Annual Conference and Board Member 101 Training in the Tri Cities

Trestle Community Management is proud to sponsor two important WSCAI events this spring. These opportunities highlight the value of continuing education for Board Members and homeowners while also supporting the vital advocacy work of WSCAI’s Legislative Action Committee (LAC). Our involvement reflects a commitment to equipping community association leaders with the clarity, confidence, and resources they need during a period of significant regulatory evolution in Washington.
Supporting LAC Night at the 2026 Annual Conference
WSCAI’s 2026 Annual Conference will take place April 9 through April 11 at the Seattle Convention Center. The multiday program includes educational sessions, keynote presentations, a trade show, and the popular LAC Night, which brings attendees together to raise funds in support of WSCAI’s Legislative Action Committee. The LAC plays a critical role in monitoring legislation, educating policymakers, and ensuring that the voices of community associations are represented in Olympia. With major legislative changes underway, strong advocacy is essential to help community associations navigate new requirements and prepare for the future.
Elevating Advocacy Through the Legislative Action Committee
WSCAI’s Legislative Action Committee serves as a unified voice for community associations throughout Washington. The LAC identifies legislative issues, monitors bill activity, educates policymakers, and works directly with state officials to ensure that community association perspectives are accurately represented. Volunteer members and industry professionals contribute their time and expertise to advance sound public policy and strengthen the governance framework for all associations.
LAC Night is an important fundraiser for this work. Supporting the LAC helps maintain a proactive presence in Olympia during a time of evolving statutory requirements, including changes associated with the Washington Uniform Common Interest Ownership Act (WUCIOA). Continued engagement ensures that Boards receive timely and accurate guidance on compliance obligations.
Sponsoring Board Member 101 Training in the Tri Cities
Trestle is also sponsoring the Board Member 101 Training in the Tri Cities on April 13, 2026. This in‑person educational program provides foundational guidance for both new and experienced Board Members. The session addresses essential topics such as the role of the Board, meeting procedures, budgeting, reserve studies, applicable Washington laws, and governing documents.
These trainings help participants build a strong understanding of their responsibilities while also introducing the many resources available through WSCAI. Continuing education is particularly valuable as Boards prepare for statutory updates that will affect governance, financial practices, transparency, and owner engagement.
Revisiting WUCIOA and Preparing for Statewide Compliance
On January 1, 2026, core provisions of WUCIOA began to apply to all community associations in Washington. These provisions standardize meeting procedures, notice requirements, owner access to information, budgeting practices, and various aspects of governance. Additional requirements phase in through 2028.
Both LAC Night and Board Member 101 Training present opportunities for community leaders to deepen their understanding of WUCIOA and prepare for full compliance. Strong educational programming, combined with active legislative advocacy, helps Boards adapt with confidence.
Trestle offers several resources to support associations during this transition, including our WUCIOA for All White Paper. This resource provides clear explanations of statutory requirements, a timeline for phased implementation, and practical steps for Boards as they update policies and adjust operations. Supporting Strong, Informed Community Leadership
Sponsorship of these two events reflects Trestle’s ongoing commitment to helping Boards navigate complex responsibilities through education, clarity, and informed advocacy. The Annual Conference encourages collaboration and knowledge sharing across the industry, while the Tri Cities training provides Board Members with essential skills for their day‑to‑day work. Support of LAC Night ensures that the advocacy efforts shaping Washington’s legislative landscape remain strong and effective.
Community associations benefit when leaders are well prepared and fully informed, and Trestle is committed to contributing to that effort.
