Advancing Education and Leadership at FRONTSTEPS Forward

FRONTSTEPS Forward brings together community management professionals from across the country to explore how leadership, technology, and evolving practices are shaping the future of community association management. This year’s agenda emphasizes practical strategies for adapting to change while maintaining service quality, accountability, and long-term community success. Our Team is proud to contribute to that conversation through two sessions focused on leadership development and the evolving role of the Community Manager.
Bob Brencic, CMCA, AMS, MBA, President of Trestle Community Management, will present Future-Ready Communities: Scaling Leadership and Technology. In addition, Bob and Vanessa Tilberg, CMCA, AMS, PCAM, Director of Operations, will co-present Managing Forward: Redefining the Role of the Community Manager. Together, these sessions reflect an ongoing commitment to industry education and to preparing management professionals for what comes next.
Preparing Communities for Growth and Complexity
As communities grow more complex, management organizations must scale intentionally.
In Future-Ready Communities: Scaling Leadership and Technology, Bob will join a panel of industry leaders to discuss how community management organizations can evolve while maintaining consistency and service quality. The session explores the real-world challenges of scaling teams, adopting new technology, and leading through constant change. Panelists will share practical strategies for growing portfolios, supporting teams through disruption, and strengthening the overall homeowner experience through intentional leadership and operational alignment.
The session explores how strong leadership frameworks create consistency across teams, how technology can be leveraged to improve decision-making and efficiency, and why a disciplined, people-first approach remains essential even as systems and tools evolve. Attendees will walk away with practical perspectives on scaling organizations while keeping both clients and team members supported.
Redefining the Community Manager Role
The role of the Community Manager continues to evolve beyond day-to-day administration. In Managing Forward: Redefining the Role of the Community Manager, Bob and Vanessa will examine how expectations for Managers are changing and what skills, tools, and support structures are necessary to meet those expectations.
This session focuses on proactive leadership, strategic communication, and the balance between operational execution and advisory guidance. The discussion centers on how Managers can better support Boards, navigate increased regulatory and operational demands, and position themselves as trusted partners in community governance. The session also highlights how organizations can support Managers through training, systems, and realistic role design.
A Continued Investment in Education
Participation in FRONTSTEPS Forward reflects an ongoing investment in professional education and industry leadership. Sharing practical experience, contributing to peer learning, and participating in broader conversations about the future of community management help strengthen the industry as a whole.
Education does not stop at implementation of new tools or completion of certifications. It is an ongoing process that supports better decision-making, stronger governance, and more resilient communities. These sessions are part of that broader effort to elevate the profession and prepare Managers and organizations for a future that requires both adaptability and consistency.
